Jessie Marino and Daniel Zea play in this program in completely different ways with our expectations of what we experience in a concert.
In Marino's piece, we become part of a surreal underwater world in which beings of wondrous identity fluidly adapt their means of communication to the surrounding conditions.
Zea's work moves fluidly between genre boundaries and rituals of music reception, with a score that is newly generated live at each performance. It draws on club beats and rhythms from Cuban dance music, and one hint in advance: wearing comfortable shoes is definitely an advantage!
