Ensemble Proton Bern will perform two concerts at the 3rd edition of the "Winter Music" festival at the Akademie der Künste Berlin.

On the concert evening "Intonation", the ensemble will perform two new works by Anda Kryeziu and Caspar Johannes Walter, which it premiered on 15 November 2022 as part of the concert From Plank to Plank in Bern. In addition, the two soprano singers Dragana Tomić and Milena Ognjanović - who sing in Walter's work - will perform "A Treasury of Serbian Singing".

A new work by Arnold Dreyblatt "for arciorgano and excited string bass" will be premiered by Peter Michael Hamel (prep. piano, arciorgano) and Michael Thelonious Hamel (electronics).

The festival theme "Wankendes Weltbild" (Wavering World View) refers to sensations triggered by a crisis-ridden, rapidly changing present. Today‘s upheaval resembles the world as Nicola Vicentino perceived it in the 16th century, the time of the Copernican Turn. His unusual instrument, the Arciorgano - replicated by Studio 31 in Basel - is at the centre of the Saturday evening. The works, which express "wavering" in music, address microtonality, moods with transcultural and historical references, and the sensation of doubt, pain and disorientation in the face of change.

The concerts are spatially staged in the large exhibition hall, with the audience chaniging position during the concerts and experiencing changing listening qualities.
