PROGR

–––

In this programme Jessie Marino and Daniel Zea question the established concert ritual in their own completely different ways, rethink it, turn it on its head and thus open up an astonishing new way of experiencing a concert.

Daniel Zea longs for an art music that oozes physicality and could be considered 'danceable', whilst his compositional interest lies in the development of scores that are generated live: the individual ensemble parts influence each other and through this interaction determine the direction and continuation of the piece. Sound and light are major compositional elements. On a deeper level Zea addresses how we form our individual, even multiple personalities and present them to the world by revealing, hiding, mixing and (de)fragmenting our identities depending on the context.

Jessie Marino's compositions combine elements of pop culture and political discourse to create dynamic music that serves up a unique synthesis of humour and pathos. For her new work, Marino plans to envelop the audience, i.e. you, in darkness among the musicians, spread out, allowing you to immerse yourself in unimagined dimensions of listening.
